The alleged Google-Verizon deal that's endangering net neutrality:

This rumored Google/Verizon deal is important to the future of net neutrality. I think this article does a nice job of explaining the situation - although I think the bit about Verizon “teaching” Google about how to maintain a monopoly is a bit heavy-handed. I do agree with the idea that this deal probably has a lot more to do with net neutrality on the mobile web than on your computer, but is still a very dangerous precedent. I’m usually a Google Kool-Aid drinker, but this seems to have the potential to be a very evil step.

This is a nice little examination of the weirdness that is Nic Cage. I think she makes some good points in the article, like comparing Cage to Vincent Price.

City Hall Subway Station in New York City, New York.

The City Hall Subway Station opened in October 1904 and was part of the first line of the New York City Subway. It was designed to be the showpiece of the new subway. The last train stopped at City Hall on December 31, 1945. The station was then closed because it would have been expensive and far too difficult to renovate the station at the modern standards. Another reason to close the station was the nearby Brooklyn Bridge station, which is much busier.

The ghost station is still used as a turning loop for 6 Lexington Avenue Local trains. The station can also be visited by registered members of the New York City Transit Museum.

next time i’m in nyc i really want to go to the transit museum. knowing that registered members can visit the city hall station means that i will probably be talked into becoming a transit museum member. i’m a sucker.
